Cyclists raised £22,750 for charity by taking part in a gruelling ride from Brierfield to Birmingham.
‘Team Yemen’ made up of 13 cyclists many of them from Accrington and Pendle cycled 130 miles to the Midlands to raise funds for victims of the Yemen war and the charity Hope For Mankind.
The Briefield team consisting of Abdul Shahzad and Abdul Bassat cycled through Burnley and then on to Manchester, taking in Macclesfield, Stafford, Wolverhampton before ending the challenge at the Ghamkol Sharif Mosque.
Organisers Khayam Raja and Rizwan Ali said, “The glorious weather helped lift the spirits of the riders and this contrasted with the lows including mechanical failures requiring immediate roadside repairs in Manchester city centre.
“This ride required a tremendous amount of logistical work as well as input from sponsors for which Team Yemen are very appreciative of. We raised a massive £22,750 which is a huge achievement."

Team Yemen are now also planning a charity skydive in the future.
