A HEALTH boss has thanked a Manchester firm for donating 50 disposable gowns for GPs surgeries, clinics, hospitals and care homes.

MHS Med Supplies Ltd gave them to the East Lancashire and Blackburn with Darwen Clinical Commissioning Groups after an appeal for businesses to provide unwanted Personal Protective Equipment to keep its stocks adequate while the coronavirus pandemic lasts.

Alex Walker, director of performance and delivery at the two CCGs, hopes other firms will follow suit to ensure they do not run short of the vital safety kit; for staff.

He said: “We are incredibly thankful to the staff at MHS Med Supplies Ltd for donating their time and resources in the provision of these gowns.

"These are challenging times and the NHS, health and care staff across Pennine Lancashire need an inordinate amount of PPE so any other donations are welcome and well received.

"I would like to say a big thank you to those businesses and organisations like MHS Med Supplies Ltd for their ongoing generosity and support."
