One lane of motorway closed by police following afternoon crash
***UPDATE: All lanes were re-opened before 5pm***
A section of the motorway has been closed following a crash.
One lane on the M6 northbound at junction 31 for Preston, Blackburn and Clitheroe is now out of use so that police and traffic officers can deal with the incident.
A spokesperson for Highways England posted on Twitter:
The #M6 northbound at #J31 (#Preston #Blackburn #Clitheroe #A59) 1 lane has been closed due to a collision. @LancsRoadPolice & Traffic Officers are currently at the scene.
