A motorcyclist has been rushed to hospital with serious leg injuries following a collision with a vehicle on the A41 in Eastham.
Emergency services including an air ambulance were called to the scene shortly before 12.30pm this afternoon.
The incident occurred on the A41/New Chester Road near Starbuck's coffee shop in Eastham, close to the Vauxhall roundabout.
The collision involved a Triumph motorbike and Land Rover. The rider, a man in his 30s, sustained serious injuries to both legs and has been taken to hospital. Police are still at the scene, close to Junction 5 of the M53.
It is understood that although serious, the injuries are not thought to be life-threatening.
The stretch of road is currently closed in both directions, causing tailbacks on the M53. Traffic is also being diverted away from the scene at the traffic lights by the entrance to Eastham village.
