Are you keener for Rena? Meet our Dog of the Week.

Name: Rena

Breed: German Shepherd

Age: 6

Rena is a smart girl who is still learning, and is available to meet on Dogs Trust Merseyside’s appointment system.

She enjoys having a fuss made over her, as long as she is relaxed, but does like to be around people. Rena will happily chase after toys that you throw for her, but doesn't have a clue what to do with them once they stop moving.

Hopefully she will be able to find a loving family to show her the fun and importance of playtime.

Georgina Lowery, Rehoming Centre Manager at Dogs Trust Merseyside, said: “Rena can get very lively around other dogs, when she is on her lead, although this is because she is desperate to be able to greet them.

She gets along with other playful and tolerant dogs, but would be better as the only dog in the home whilst she works on her social interactions.

We would advise that she live in a home where any children are aged 14 and over. Rena would appreciate a home where she will have someone around to keep her company most of the day.”

Dogs Trust Merseyside is currently not open for public browsing but you can still make an appointment to adopt or bring a dog to them.

The trust has set up new processes which include social distancing measures to help keep staff and visitors safe.

Potential new owners will be able to meet the dog they are interested in rehoming at the centre in an outside play area, or in a spacious area that is separate from the main rehoming centre such as a training barn, whilst adhering to social distancing guidelines.
