It was a family affair when Church and Oswaldtwistle Rotary did their presidential handover.
Lyndon Heap handed over the chain of office to his wife, Cath, who became the club’s 70th president.
The event, which was held via Zoom, was combined with the club’s charter night which is usually held in March.
More than 20 members and their guests appeared. Some members entered into the spirit of the occasion by donning black ties, gowns and fancy hats!
Various games were played throughout the evening whilst the guests had a variety of virtual meals from steak to salmon.
Anecdotes from Lyndon’s presidency were passed around and shared with everyone, much to the hilarity of the audience.
Cath was delighted with the turnout
She said: “Thanks to Lyndon for doing an amazing job for nearly three years, they are big shoes to fill.
"We are entering unknown territory, but we start with some fantastic projects such as the train station maintenance work, Oswaldtwistle library gardens and bench restoration, friendship group for the elderly, Friends of Rotary and our continuing Zoom meetings. We also have our ongoing International Vision 2000 project."
