Explain the history of the pub:

Stephen and Rebecca have been at the Grey Mare for 21years this year. The Grey Mare however has been here we believe for over 100 years starting out as an inn progressing today to being a very busy country pub with some of the most amazing views and mist warm welcoming atmosphere, where you can enjoy delicious food and crafted ales.

Is food served? If yes what's on the menu?

Food is served in a very traditional country way with pub classics like freshly beer battered cod, fresh chips and mushy peas to some amazing chefs creations.

Is there a beer garden?

There is a beer garden which is at the moment covered in a beautiful marquee to welcome guests who love to enjoy the outside scenery while they’re still shielded from the elements.

Do you have any darts/snooker/pool teams?

No.

Most popular drink served is:

Real ales especially from Thwaites.

Most memorable moment for the pub was:

Most memorable moment has to be being at the Grey Mare for 20 years last year. Celebrating with all our teams, locals, friends we’ve made over the years a massive part of us and our time at the Grey Mare.

Do you have an entertainment line up?

We have entertainment at Christmas.

Have you faced any challenges within the industry?

Lots of challenges are sent to face us especially when we have been here so long. Positivity and always a smiling face.

We absolutely love it and everyone who comes to visit the Grey Mare.

The worst thing about running a pub is…

It becomes your world ???? just like anything that you care a lot about.
