A coronavirus fatality has been recorded a Wirral University Teaching Hospital, NHS England has confirmed.
The death, which occurred on June 30, is the first to be recorded at the trust in two weeks and takes the total number of patients who have died with Covid-19 in Wirral NHS hospitals to 236.
A further 35 people, who tested positive for the Coronavirus (Covid-19) have died, bringing the total number of confirmed reported deaths in hospitals in England to 28,794.
Patients were aged between 54 and 92 years old. Two patients, aged 54 and 84, had no known underlying health conditions. Their families have been informed.
Regionally, eight deaths were recorded in the North West today - the joint-highest in the country alongside the Midlands.
