A MAN who tried to swallow drugs near a primary school has been arrested.
The 48-year-old man was seen near St Luke and St Philip’s Primary School, Blackburn, in a suspected drug sale at around 12.30pm on Thursday.
When officers approached the man, he attempted to swallow the drugs but was stopped.
He was arrested on suspicion of possession with intent to supply Class A drugs.
Several wraps of suspected crack cocaine and heroin were recovered along with some cash and a mobile phone.
A spokesman for the police said: "Unfortunately this happened near to a primary school which shows the lengths these people will go to in order to buy and sell their drugs.
"Please keep passing any information to us regarding drug activity in your area."
