THIS picture from the archives shows yet another impressive building which has sadly disappeared.
It shows Moreton Hall, Whalley situated on the slopes of Whalley Nab off what is now the A680. The mansion was built in the Jacobean style for John Taylor in the early 1830s.
Sadly the house was demolished in 1955 as a result of what was described as “damage from requisitioning in World War II”.
Moreton Hall Farm now stands on the site near Portfield Bar.
