BURNLEY FC are marking the reopening of their official store with a sale of branded face masks, with 100% of proceeds going to the club’s charity.

Staff at the Turf Moor shop are relieved to be welcoming supporters back following the coronavirus lockdown and hope that the mask sale will help fund the vital work that Burnley FC in the Community has been doing throughout this period.

The three-layer microbial masks are priced at £8 and will allow fans to show their support while protecting themselves from the virus as lockdown continues to ease.

A statement issued by the club said: “A big thank you to our supporters for the patience they have shown during the lockdown, for continuing to purchase online, and for venturing in to store over the past few days, it’s certainly been great to see you all back!

“While we know things are improving, Government guidelines are still in place to ensure we keep ourselves and our loved ones safe.”

Since the beginning lockdown the club’s charity has distributed 1,875 food parcels which have fed 4,200 people of which 1,633 have been children and has also provided over 500 welfare calls to vulnerable members of the community.

Staff have also provided virtual activity packs for children, which have been accessed by young supporters over 2,700 times and an online healthy lifestyles programme for adults.

The club hopes that sales of face masks will help continue to fund efforts like these as the community comes to face the post pandemic landscape.

The store, meanwhile, has now instituted new health and safety policies including a one-way system, limiting the number of shoppers and installing hand sanitiser stations in order to protect customers.

It will also only remain at reduced hours from 10am-3pm Monday to Friday.
