SEVERAL footpaths have been made wider across Bolton town centre using reallocated road space.
The larger walking routes, to enable social distancing, are the result of the council’s Safe Streets Save Lives campaign launched in May.
Road space has been reallocated on Newport Street, Knowsley Street and Blackhorse Street as they are key routes into the town centre.
Signs have also been placed to remind people in the town centre to keep 2m apart.
Feedback from the campaign is also being used to look at developing more cycling lanes and safer streets.
The campaign will be reopening the consultation to allow the public to have another say on measures taken to improve cycling and walking within the town.
People are encouraged to share their views on how the temporary measures are working, particularly as people return to work and shops reopen.
