Firefighters tackled a fire at a small business in Preston on Friday after a tumble dryer caught fire.

Four fire engines were called a commercial building on Lancaster North Road at around 1pm, where firefighters spent an hour distinguishing the fire.

A Lancashire Fire and Rescue Service spokesperson said: "At 12:44pm, four fire engines from Preston, Penwortham, Fulwood and Bamber Bridge attended an incident on Lancaster Road North, Preston.

"The fire involved a tumble dryer in a commercial property and firefighters used two breathing apparatus, a hose reel and a positive ventilation fan to extinguish the fire."
