Busy road closed as injured person found in the carriageway
A SECTION of a busy road is closed after an injured person was found in the carriageway.
The discovery was made this evening on the A56 Haslingden Bypass close to Rising Bridge.
Eyewitnesses have said traffic is building in the area, and motorists should find an alternative route.
A police spokesman said: "A section of the A56 Haslingden Bypass close to Rising Bridge has been closed after someone was found injured on the road.
"We are currently at the scene and will update you when we can. Please avoid the area if you are able.
"We appreciate your patience at this time."
