Police are seeking the driver of a BMW M3 after they ran from the scene of a crash.

At around midnight on Wednesday, officers in Burnley were called to the junction of Colne Road and Brennand Street after a BMW smashed into a bus stop, careered over a central reservation taking a 20mph road sign with it, and narrowly avoided a building.

Lancashire Telegraph:

Videos and photos from the aftermath of the crash show the car on Brennand Street, its front tyre missing and both its passenger and driver doors wide open.

It is believed the driver of the vehicle fled the scene.

Lancashire Telegraph:

A spokesperson for the police said: "We were called close to midnight to a crash on Colne Road.

"It looks like a car has come off the road and gone into a lamp post and a bus stop.

"There were no other vehicles involved and no injuries have been reported to us.

"The driver has left the scene.

"We are now looking to speak with the driver of the BMW so if anyone has any information that could assist with our enquiries they are asked to call 101 quoting log number 1701 of June 17."
