A dancer from Manchester has donated her £5000 prize winnings from a competition to the Greater Manchester Mental Health NHS Foundation Trust (GMMH).

The GMMH provides inpatient and community-based mental health care for people in Bolton and across Greater Manchester.

Dance teacher Destiny Owen took part in the Fridays Feeling Talent Show, launched by TGI Fridays in April.

After weeks of heats, a head to head semi-final and millions of public votes, Destiny was chosen as the winner after the live final on June 5.

Her winning video featured Destiny performing hip hop dance moves with her young students at a safe social distance, she received a third of the public vote in the last round.

The prize was a donation of £5,000 to the NHS charity of their own choice, £2,000 to take home and a chance to perform at a VIP party.

Neil Thwaite, Chief Executive of the GMMH said: "On behalf of GMMH, I would like to say a huge thank you to Destiny and TGI Fridays UK for their very generous donation.

"We are overwhelmed by this gift, which will go directly to support the care of our patients and service users or to support the wellbeing of staff looking after them.

"Our staff are working magnificently around the clock to care for patients from our region, and in turn our communities have shown how much they appreciate everything they do."
