A man who came off his bike during a crash with another vehicle has been arrested after failing to provide a breath test for the police.

At 3.45pm on Friday, police in the Henry Street area of Church, Accrington asked a man riding a black Yamaha to stop.

The man failed to pull over and continued along the road before colliding with another vehicle close to a junction, which sent him flying from his bike.

A spokesperson for the police said: "Officers attempted to breathalyse the man but he refused.

"He was arrested on suspicion of failing to provide a breath test and was taken to hospital.

"He suffered a minor injury in the crash and upon his release from hospital he will be taken into custody."

Diversions were put in place around Henry Street until the incident was dealt with.
