A MAN has been arrested on suspicion of attempted murder after a stabbing in a residential area.

Police officers were called to Hereford Road in Blackburn at around 4.30pm on Wednesday after receiving reports that a man had been stabbed.

Paramedics and rapid response vehicles, including the air ambulance, were also scrambled to the scene. 

Officers attended and a 35-year-old man was taken to hospital with minor stab wounds and has since been discharged.

A 25-year-old man from Blackburn has been arrested on suspicion of attempted murder and remains in custody.

Enquiries are on-going.
