Bolton CVS is celebrating volunteers week by saying "volunteering matters...time to say thanks."

They feel this year especially the role of volunteers is even more crucial due to coronavirus.

Darren Knight, Chief Executive at Bolton CVS, said: "Over the past few months I’ve seen volunteers going over and above, every single day, giving time morning, noon and night and covering bank holidays.

"Volunteers have been helping out however they can.

"The contribution of every single volunteer has made such a difference. Before Covid, volunteers made Bolton special.

"During Covid, every volunteer demonstrated the power of community, how volunteering is rewarding not only for the people that benefit, but also for the place where we live."

Tony Oakman, Chief Executive at Bolton Council, said: "More than ever in these challenging times volunteering is a fundamental cornerstone of life in Bolton.

"It’s part of the Bolton DNA and on behalf of the Bolton Family we thank you for your time and wonderful contribution."
