FIREFIGHTERS were called to extinguish a fire behind a house this morning.
Two crews from Hyndburn Station were sent to tackle the blaze in the rear yard of a property in Lydia Street, Accrington just after 2.35am and remained at the scene for nearly three hours.
Two firefighters wearing breathing apparatus used one hose reel and one ventilation unit to extinguish the fire.
A fire service spokesman said "The cause of the fire is now under investigation.
"Firefighters were at the scene for two hours and fifty minutes."
