Police want to speak with the man in these images after a wallet containing £1,000 in cash was stolen from a train.

British Transport Police say the wallet was reportedly stolen from a passenger who was travelling between Manchester and Darwen stations.

As well as the cash, bank cards from the wallet were later used to buy items from a service station.

The incident took place between 2.44pm and 3.30pm on Wednesday April 22.

A spokesperson for the BTP said: "British Transport Police are today releasing a CCTV image after a wallet was reportedly stolen containing £1,000 in cash on a train between Manchester and Darwen.

"Officers would like to speak to the man in the images who may have information that could help their investigation."

Anyone who recognises the man or who has information is asked to contact BTP by texting 61016 or by calling 0800 40 50 40.

In both cases reference number 150 of April 23 should be quoted.
