Police in Blackburn arrested a homeless man in the town on Saturday for a breach of his criminal behaviour order.
The 54-year-old of no fixed abode was seen begging outside a local business.
The Police Neighbourhood Policing Team say that they try to work with individuals who are homeless but that some have not become engaged.
A statement said: "We recognise that some of the homeless have complex needs and we will continue to engage and try to help people in difficult circumstances, but we will not tolerate any begging within the town and try our best to put a stop to the nuisance this causes to members of the public."
The man will appear before Preston Magistrates Court on Monday.
