A NINE year old boy from Palacefields in Runcorn will swim, cycle and run his way around Pickmere Lake to raise funds for Mind charity.

Louie Grover who attends St Mary's C E Primary School, will take part in a triathlon next Wednesday (27th June) to celebrate all the good things about being outdoors. He intends to swim 750 metres across the lake, then a 30k cycle and finish off by running around the lake.

Explaining why his son chose Mind charity, which offers information and help to people with mental health problems, proud father Jamie said: "The main thing that has kept him happy during lockdown is riding his bike. He loves bike riding and being outdoors so he decided he wanted to do a charity bike ride to raise awareness of how good it feels to get out into the fresh air and how good it is for your mind.

"He also loves swimming and we started going back last week to Pickmere Lake so he wanted to do both so we put the two together."

Louie will be 10 on Sunday and his dad says he will be celebrating with a subway and a party with his brothers and sisters (and hopefully a rest day).

Happy birthday for Sunday Louie.
