AN East Lancashire school forced to shut its doors last week due to the coronavirus has reopened.
Shuttleworth College, on Burnley Road, Padiham, was closed for a day on Friday for a deep clean.
It opened again this morning for a small number pupils. the children of key worker kids and vulnerable youngsters.
A second East Lancashire school - St John Fisher and St Thomas More Roman Catholic High School, in Colne, remains closed after a staff member tested positive for Covid-19.
The Gibfield Road secondary is currently being given a deep clean.
A notice on its website says: "We are closed currently for cleaning. This will include a deep clean in all parts of the school.
After this has been done, Fisher More will reopen following all the latest government and Public Health England recommendations."
A letter of Shuttleworth College parents last week said: "One of the teachers who was on our site last week with Burnley High School has tested
positive for the virus this week."
As a result Shuttleworth College was closed for a day on Friday for a deep clean reopening this morning.
