A LEADING East Lancashire business has appointed a new trading director.

Rupert Nichols joins Accrington-based Studio.co.uk, following his time as Group Buying Director for Dixons Carphone and previously with DSGi and Sainsburys.

In his new role with the digital value retailer, Mr Nichols will be charged with driving new trading opportunities for the business, whilst continuing to develop its purchasing and supply chain strategy.

His appointment comes at a vital time for the Henry Street, -based retailer as it continues to pursue its ambitious digital transformation plans, which last year included the launch of its award-winning mobile app.

Paul Kendrick, managing director of Studio.co.uk, said: “We have ambitious plans to grow and expand our business and with the current challenges across the sector, there’s a lot of work ahead. Rupert’s extensive trading knowledge and experience, particularly in online retail, is a welcome addition to an already strong leadership team, which I have no doubt will help us to achieve our goals.”

Mr Nichols added: “I’m thrilled to be joining Studio at such an exciting time in its journey. Thousands of customers shop with us every day, seeking great products at amazing value and I’m looking forward to supporting the business to achieve this.”
