A HUGE thank you message has appeared at New Brighton Dips, courtesy of Wirral Council Parks and Countryside teams, to show appreciation to NHS staff and key workers.

The 100m long message, made using line marking paint for football pitches, should last for a couple of weeks depending on the weather and aims to help provide a reminder of the huge amount of thanks and gratitude the whole borough is showing towards people who continue to keep essential services running, as lockdown begins to ease after the government’s announcement.

Mary Worrall, Senior Manager for Wirral Parks, Coast and Countryside at Wirral Council, said: “I am really pleased to see the end result of this message to all NHS staff and key workers around the borough and that the Parks team have been able to help spread this message of thanks.

“Whilst lockdown begins to be eased by government, I hope that this artwork will act as a reminder of the continued hard work that our NHS and keyworkers do throughout this challenging time.

"This is also a reminder that we all need to continue to maintain social distancing and follow handwashing guidelines to protect NHS and key workers in the community.

“I am delighted that this message is in place and hope that residents will continue to join the nation in the weekly thank you to our NHS.”

Wirral Globe:

The borough’s residents, like many communities around the nation, acknowledge the continued efforts of NHS staff in their community with the weekly Clap for Carers on Thursday at 8pm.

All work was carried out in line with government social distancing guidelines.
