FAMILY doctors and community health clinics across East Lancashire have been given 4,000 new visors to protect staff.
The vital pieces of personal protective equipment (PPE) have been made and donated by volunteer workers at DoES Liverpool.
They have been delivered to Blackburn and Darwen NHS Clinical Commissioning Group and its East Lancashire counterpart which covers Hyndburn, Burnley, Pendle and Rossendale.
They have been distributed to GP surgeries and health clinics.
Alex Walker, director of performance and delivery for the two CCGs said: “We are incredibly grateful to this group of incredibly talented and community-spirited people for generously donating their time and resources in the provision of these visors.
“We need an inordinate amount of PPE so any other donations are welcome and well received."
