A man has been jailed for 10 weeks after police caught him going equipped for theft and found a number of drugs in his possesion.
On Sunday May 3, police were contacted by concerned residents in the Foulridge area of Pendle, who reported they'd spotted a man acting suspiciously in their neighbourhood.
Officers responded to the calls and stopped a man, Matthew Dwyer, before arresting him at the scene.
Police Sergeant Stuart Banks of East Division said: "Matthew Dwyer was stopped by police and arrested for going equipped for theft and possession of drugs after being found with items to be used in connection with these offences."
As a result of his arrest he was charged and later appeared in court.
Dwyer was sentenced to 10 weeks in prison.
PS Banks added: "Many thanks to those members of the community who have helped police with this matter."
