Tributes have flooded in to a Bolton nurse who has died after contracting coronavirus.
Gill Oakes, who worked at Bolton Hospice for almost 24 years, died on Thursday night at Bolton Hospital after contracting coronavirus.
Her death was announced in a post on Bolton Hospice's Facebook page on Friday afternoon and tributes poured in for the much-loved nurse straight away.
In less than an hour more than 300 people liked the post and more than 100 left tributes to the beloved nurse.
Writing on the post, Emma Davies said: "Our beautiful Gill. She looked after all of us every single day. She was genuine, caring and funny.
"Thinking about all of Gills family and friends as well as all of my friends at Bolton Hospice. I know how much this will have an impact on you but through past experiences, I know that you will pull together at this side time. 💖"
Linda Anne Leswell wrote: "So sad R.I.P Gill thoughts to all your family and friends and colleagues and thank you my late uncle and best friend were in the hospice and received the very best of care and my late aunty was a volunteer thank you and all your colleagues RIP Gill."
Molly Cullen wrote: "So sorry and sad to hear this 🌈❤️ My thoughts are with Gill and her family and the Bolton hospice family! RIP Gill! 🌈❤️ X x x x"
