POLICE are warning motorcyclists to stop causing anti-social behaviour in neighbourhoods in Burnley and Padiham.

Inspector Damian Pemberton posted an update on social media on the Burnley and Padiham Police page.

The Burnley and Padiham Geographic Inspector said: "Over the last couple of days the Neighbourhood Policing Team have been busy taking on board all the intelligence and information that has been sent through to them by yourselves.

"So far we have seized a nuisance motorcycle from a rider that chose to ride along the canal in the Daneshouse area and we have also reported an individual for riding with no driving licence, insurance or MOT and in an anti-social manner in the Lanehead area of Burnley.

"Officers will be visiting a number of individuals that we believe are causing a nuisance in our communities and putting people's safety and lives at risk."

He added they have a lot of work to do to catch the culprits but warned drivers to stop.

He said: "If you own a motorcycle and ride it in a manner that causes our communities to feel harassed, alarmed or distressed or you ride without a licence, correct insurance or MOT then please expect a visit very soon.

"If we can seize your bike and ensure that you don't get it back then we will and if we can prosecute you then we will. YOU HAVE BEEN WARNED.

"Any information or intelligence regarding motorcycle nuisance or anti-social-behaviour will be taken seriously and looked in to so please email the Neighbourhood Policing Team ( Burnley.NPT@lancashire.pnn.police.uk)."
