The Lanashire Telegraph launched its #lockdownheroes campaign and during these difficult times we are shining the spotlight on those in the community who are doing a fantastic job whilst we fight the coronavirus. We will be showcasing everyone on a weekly basis so keep your nominations coming in to simone.okane@newsquest.co.uk

Here’s this week’s community heroes!

Jolene Calvert nominated by Tina Ashby: I would like to nominate Jolene Calvert who lives in Blackburn. She is a cleaner and lone worker of the retirement housing scheme I manage. Jolene has worked tirelessly seven days a week ensuring the court is sanitised and cleaned to a high standard. Jolene has not had a day off in over five weeks and even  came in to work over the bank holiday weekend. Jolene does a fantastic job and always has a smile on her face, she not only cleans she offers support to residents and keeps me informed of any concerns. Jolene is an asset to my scheme and key to keeping us free of  Covid-19.

Alishia Goulding nominated by Anna Capitelli: Alishia Goulding is my hero. She is my daughter and has been delivering food and drinks to me and looking after me and checking up on me during the coronavirus outbreak. She works and has two children but still finds the time to visit me and leave food. I am very grateful for everything that she does. I love you Alishia.

Rachael Ormerod nominated by Mandy Cooper: I would like to nominate my friend Rachael Ormerod from Blackburn – she works on the ICU at Royal Blackburn Hospital. As well as working long hours and being run ragged she is she is a nurse at the Royal Blackburn Hospital and she is working tirelessly – along with her colleagues to keep us safe. Thank you so much Rach you are a star!

Liam Murphy nominated by Dominic Woods: Liam Murphy is a community hero! His company S T Murphy Transport is keeping the most important supplies coming to East Lancashire. He is busy being a key worker and deserves a shout out – along with his work colleagues which he will not furlough during these difficult times. He is up and out every day working and doing a great job. Cheers Liam!
