FIRE crews were called after a quantity of hay burst into flames near to farmland to the west of Clitheroe.
The blaze was sparked off Chapel Close, near to the River Ribble, at around 5.15pm this afternoon.
Firefighters were in attendance at the scene for around an hour as they brought the fire under control.
A spokesman for Lancashire Fire and Rescue service said: "At 17:17hrs on April 21st 2020, firefighters were called to Chapel Close, Clitheroe to reports of a quantity of hay on fire.
"Crews used an LPP (light portable pump), 1 major pump and 1 hose reel to extinguish the blaze. Firefighters were in attendance for approximately an hour."
