A man has entered a pensioner's house and stolen a substantial amount of cash after pretending to be a builder.
Police are now appealing for witnesses and have released CCTV footage of a person they want to identify in relation to the incident.
At around 3.30pm on Thursday, the bogus builder was invited into an elderly man's house after offering to conduct work on his property on West View in Clitheroe.
Once inside, the 'builder' has stolen a wallet belonging the man - who is believed to be in his 80s - and made off with a substantial amount of cash.
A spokesperson for the police said: "It is thought a bogus-type builder has offered to conduct work at an elderly male's address and been invited in, before stealing a wallet containing a substantial sum of money.
"We have CCTV of a male we would like to speak to in relation to this incident and are asking for witnesses who may have been in the area at that time, or seen anything suspicious to come forward."
Police are also asking for anyone who may have been visited by someone offering to do work on their house to get in touch.
