COMPANIES from across East Lancashire have done their bit to help fightback against Coronavirus by coming together to donate to local hospitals.

One of the most generous donations has been a gift of 5000 bottles of hand sanitiser to East Lancashire NHS Trust by pharmaceutical company MDS Healthcare Limited.

Working alongside the company has been Imran Amir, a manager at City Fibre and a committee member at the Masjid E Sajedeen in Little Harwood.

He said: “I am very fortunate to play a key role in helping our NHS hospitals through these crucial times.

“It is vital that everyone does that part by following the government guidelines.

“I urge everyone to please stay at home, protect the NHS and save lives.”

MDS Healthcare is a Preston based family business whose director Mohsin Patel pledged to donate hand sanitisers to supply NHS chains facing difficulty and has already made multiple donations around the country.

The local trust has been hugely grateful to everyone who has come together to help its healthcare support workers to meet the challenge posed by the virus.

East Lancashire NHS Fundraising Manger Denise Gee said: “We have been overwhelmed with the kindness of our community, which continues throughout this challenge.

“We’d like to thank everyone, including Imran and his colleagues.”
