AN East Lancashire-based law firm is calling for special conditions to be included on house-move contracts which are trapped by the coronavirus pandemic.
With government advice to avoid moving house while the stay-at-home measures are in place, regional law firm Napthens says it leaves thousands of property moves in lockdown limbo.
Napthens partner Simon Ainsworth said deals can be kept alive by inserting a one-off coronavirus special clause in sale contracts, which would allow parties to exchange contracts while maintaining social distancing advice, but also enabling either party to delay completion because of factors caused by Covid-19.
