A woman has been arrested on suspicion of murder after the unexplained death of a 47-year-old man in Lancashire.

The body of Lee Walker was discovered when emergency services were called to an address in Chestnut Close, Kirkham, on Wednesday afternoon.

A Home Office post-mortem examination will be carried out to try to establish the cause of death, which police said they are treating as unexplained.

A 39-year-old woman from Preston is in custody on suspicion of murder.

Detective Chief Inspector Lee Wilson, of Lancashire Police, said: "Our thoughts are with the family and friends of Mr Walker at this time and while we have arrested one person our inquiries are very much ongoing.

"I would appeal to anyone with information, in particular anyone who saw or heard anything suspicious at the address over the last few days, to get in touch.

"There will be extra police in the area over the next couple of days so please do approach an officer if you have any information or concerns."
