LANDLORDS with empty properties have been asked to come forward to provide housing for people in need.

Copeland Council is asking any landlords with available properties to get in touch with its housing team. with incentives on offer if landlords can support residents.

Mike Starkie, Mayor of Copeland, said: “We know this is a time of immense pressure for everyone and may lead to more accommodation being required to house residents who have nowhere else to go.

“We are appealing to private landlords to come forward to ensure we have every possible resource at our disposal, should we need it.

The council urges anyone who is homeless, at risk of homelessness, or suffering from domestic abuse or sexual exploitation to get in touch.
