MORE than 50 cases of coronavirus have been confirmed in Blackburn with Darwen.

Latest figures released by Public Health England and the Department of Health and Social Care show that 52 people have tested positive for COVID-19.

It means that there have been nine more cases confirmed, up from 43.

Elsewhere, cases in Lancashire have rapidly group by 106.

Today, there have been 642 people tested positive - up from 536 yesterday.

Meanwhile, Blackpool also broke the 50 barrier in terms of the number of cases today.

Nationally, as of 9am on April 4, a total of 183,190 people have been tested of which 41,903 tested positive.

Then as of 5pm on April 3, of those hospitalised in the UK who tested positive for coronavirus, 4,313 have sadly died.
