An alleged gunman accused of brandishing a blank-firing handgun outside a takeaway during lockdown has been remanded in custody.
West Midlands Police said Akeel Jawed Mughal was charged after a weapon was discharged several times in the Sparkhill area of Birmingham on Sunday.
No one was hurt in the incident, in which Mughal is alleged to have approached members of the public in Stratford Road.
A spokesman for Birmingham Magistrates' Court said Mughal, of Fosbrooke Road, Small Heath, had appeared in court in person on Wednesday.
The 30-year-old, who is accused of possessing an imitation firearm with intent to cause fear of violence and possession of a firearm when prohibited, was ordered to appear at Birmingham Crown Court on April 29.
