THERE really are some unexpectedly kind people around at the moment - as Wirral nurse Jo Smith found during a visit to her local supermarket this morning.
She had stopped off at Tesco Express in Moreton to buy something for breakfast and her lunch break.
When she got to the till, a member of the public offered to pay for her purchases.
He also thanked her for the work done by all nursing staff at this time.
Jo, pictured above with her purchases, is a community nurse at Moreton Cross Group Practice.
She told the Globe: "I was completely shocked; had no idea who this man was. He offered to pay for my food, did so, said thanks for everything we were doing and then went.
"All I remember is that he was smartly dressed. Didn't even get his name.
"Whoever he was, I just want to say thank you.
"I'm so very proud to work for Wirral Community NHS trust.
"It's nice to know that our work is appreciated."
