A CONCERNED councillor is appealing for food and other essentials for a town’s food bank.
Darwen Food Larder is running low on supplies as the coronavirus crisis bites.
The organisation - based in Industry Street - has been in touch with Darwen East ward’s Cllr Roy Davies to say they were running short on food and highlighted a lack of long-life milk.
Now the Liberal Democrat is seeking to drum up supplies from the local community.
Cllr Davies said: “Darwen Food Larder have been in touch with me as it is running short of supplies. It needs food items and, in particular, has a shortage of long-life milk.
“I have been in touch with local supermarkets but it needs kind-hearted and generous local people to come to their aid. It needs food, long-life milk and other essential items. The need for it is greater than ever i the current crisis.”
People can contacts the larder via its Facebook page, ring Cllr Davies on 07807 290890 or email him at roy.davies@blackburn.gov.uk
