A Greater Manchester community outreach group have taken their projects online to ensure their members stay happy and healthy.

Made by Mortals run musical and theatre projects for people who are elderly or have mental health conditions. They have just launched Armchair Adventures, which are all the projects they hope to run over the internet or over radio in the coming months.

The group currently runs a comedy musical project with Headspace in Bolton, which looks at mental health.

They usually hold their sessions in the Bolton Octagon workshop space in the Market Place but now use Zoom so they can have the session over a video call.

Paul Hine, the director of Made by Mortals, said: "A lot of the people in our groups are being impacted by social isolation, so we immediately realised we had to do something to make sure these people have something creative to do.

"We thought 'how can we deliver creativity into the home', and so Armchair Adventures was born. Using the internet people can enjoy original music, theatre and comedy from the safety of their home."

Made by Mortals are currently fundraising to help make Armchair Adventures a success. They also hope to work with local radio stations to reach those who do not have access to the internet.

Paul said: "We want to create meaningful activities, where people can laugh and be connected."

Made by Mortals are currently fundraising for the Armchair Adventures project, which you can donate to on their Just Giving page.
