THE sun shone and families turned out in force to enjoy a cooling dip in the open air pool at Marsden Park in Nelson in the summer of 1990. The ‘lido’ was opened in the 1930s but was closed in 2000 and four years later the decision was made to landscape the area as it would prove too costly to repair and use as a community pool.
