CAMPAIGNERS in Trafford are pulling together 'survival packs' to get older people through the coronavirus crisis.
Staff and volunteers are Age UK Trafford have issued an appeal to Messenger readers to make donations to support their drive.
Non-perishable food times and toiletries are among the items being sought by the organisers.
Vulnerable older people will benefit from the donations, which can be dropped off at their offices at 1-3 Church Road, Urmston.
Meanwhile the charity and the Cyril Flint Befrienders have also teamed up to offer support lines for the same section of society.
An Age UK spokesman said: "You may be someone who needs our support (or if you know someone who needs it) please ring one of the following numbers for support, either
0161 549 8596 (Cyril Flint Befrienders) or 0161 746 9754 (Age UK Trafford)
"Or maybe you are a person who can help by volunteering your time to help us provide the support needed e.g. shopping, telephoning to check on someone, packing food parcels etc."
If anyone can help either with the survival packs or befriending service then they are being asked to call 0161 549 8597 with your name, number and address, or e-mail the same details to admin@ageuktrafford, or drop into their Church Road offices, where donations can also be dropped off.
