A pub in Clayton-le-Moors is offering its facilities as a food bank during the unprecedented uncertainty created by the coronavirus outbreak.
The Hare and Hounds pub on Whalley Road is remaining open, and is asking people to drop off food and essential donations for the elderly and vulnerable during this difficult time.
Landlords, Sean and Sarah Moore, will be looking to deliver the donated items to those people in their community who are in self isolation or do not wish to travel for their supplies.
Mr Moore said: “We always do what we can to help.
"It’s a difficult time for all of us but we should always try help the vulnerable and elderly where we can.
"We want our customers to know we will be there for them should they need us.”
Based on Whalley Road, the pub, operated by Thwaites is open as usual.
