A CORONAVIRUS support group on social media has gained almost 7,500 members in a matter of days.
The Coronavirus North West Support Group (Covid-19 2020) was set up on Facebook on Sunday and has attracted thousands of members.
The group, which gets more than 130 posts a day, was set up by people from Preston to share news, advice and updates regarding the virus.
Posts include information on foodbanks, shop supplies, advice on symptoms, school closures, business information and how to make self isolation a little bit easier.
Within the group, the admins said: "This is a support group for the North West to share news, advice and updates on Coronavirus (covid-19)
Feel free to ask any questions, give any advice or share any links that may be useful to others.
"We will provide updates on schools, work places and other local information.
"During this pandemic situation please help support local businesses at this time of need.
"Local businesses will be hit hard and, let's stick together and help each other out.
"Please remember that this is a support group.
"Please remember to have consideration for yourself and others whilst posting and commenting."
