THE death of a man whose body has been pulled out of a canal in Nelson is believed to be 'non-suspicious'.
Four police cars and a rapid response vehicle are currently at the scene near the bridge on Reedyford Road.
A Lancashire Police spokesman said: "We were called at 7.30am this morning to reports of a body in the canal.
"The body has been pulled out of the canal and the fire service are also in attendance.
"There is a cordon in place on the footpath near the incident."
A spokesman for the North West Ambulance Service said: "We were called at 7.33am this morning and sent a rapid response vehicle and ambulance to the scene on Reedyford Road.
"No-one has been taken to hospital."
A police spokesman added that the cause of death is believed to be 'non-suspicious' and the case has been passed onto HM Coroner Service.
