EAST Lancashire's leisure trusts have been shortlisted for a national prize.
Their joint bid is a finalist in the Community Leisure UK Awards 2020.
Hyndburn, Pendle, Burnley and Rossendale Leisure Trusts and Ribble Valley Borough Council have been nominated for the Strategic Partnership Award in recognition of their work to improve the health and wellbeing of local people.
The winners will be announced during a ceremony on May 20 at the Science and Industry Museum in Manchester.
The consortium has been recognised for successfully combining the strengths of all five organisations.
Since 2016 the partnership has created and delivered the 'Up & Active' service,.
Hyndburn Leisure Trust's chief executive Lyndsey Sims,said: “I am thrilled our work is getting the recognition it deserves. Our collaboration across East Lancashire shows our commitment to encouraging the local community to be physically active and improve their lifestyles."
