AN East Lancashire architectural practice boss has been announced as an finalist at an event celebrating inspirational businesswomen in science, technology, engineering, and mathematics.

Saira Hussain, 32, founded Hussain Architectural Design in a small office in Burnley in 2011 and turned it into a female-led multi-award winning architectural practice and planning consultancy with bases in Burnley, Blackburn, Manchester and London.

The evening of celebration will be held at Coutts in Central London on Wednesday, March 11, with inspirational female entrepreneurs and leaders across STEM.

Panel discussion will be led by Julie Baker, the head of enterprise at Natwest, while the keynote speaker will be Kelly Tolhurst MP, the former small business minister.
