Police are asking for help in tracing a 'very thin' 61-year-old man missing since Monday.

In an earlier appeal, police said that Ian Dawes, from Nelson, was last spotted in Burnley town centre on Monday morning.

On Friday, officers updated their appeal with fresh information.

A spokesperson for the police said: "We now have some fresh information and a new photo that may help find him.

"He was seen on Thursday in Burnley Town Centre at around 10am.

"Did you see him or have you seen him since?"

Mr Dawes is white, 6ft tall, very thin with shoulder length hair and a beard.

A police spokesperson said: "Ian Dawes, 61, of Nelson, was last seen on the morning of Monday, March 2 in Burnley town centre.

"He was later spotted on Thursday at around 10am, again in Burnley town centre.

"He is described as white, 6ft tall, very thin with shoulder length hair and a beard.

"He is normally seen wearing jeans and a duffel coat with a scarf.

"Anyone who sees Ian or knows where he might be should contact police on 101 quoting log number 0518 of March 4."
